The Maple classroom is a dynamic, multi-age community where older preschoolers and younger Pre-K children learn, explore, and grow alongside one another. The classroom is filled with opportunities for collaboration, independence, and discovery as children continue to build confidence in themselves as capable learners and caring members of a community.
Throughout the year, teachers introduce a broad range of thematic units that encourage curiosity, creativity, and deeper exploration. Each child maintains a journal that captures their drawings, ideas, and growing ability to represent their thinking. Emerging literacy and math concepts are thoughtfully integrated throughout the classroom experience. Children explore letter sounds through books, songs, and intentional activities, while building early mathematical thinking through concrete, hands-on experiences.
Children begin applying emerging skills with increasing independence while learning alongside peers of different ages. Each child’s sense of themselves as a thoughtful friend, confident learner, and valued member of the classroom community continues to grow.
