Oaks

The Oak classroom is a place of curiosity, confidence, and deeper exploration, where children continue to build upon the skills and independence developed throughout their preschool years. Children are introduced to key concepts through play and intentional learning activities while being encouraged to ask questions, make connections, and pursue their own ideas.

Journals are an integral part of each day, supporting emerging literacy as children share increasingly complex stories and teachers thoughtfully transcribe their words. Letter-sound associations are strengthened through read-alouds, purposeful activities, and games, while early math concepts come to life through hands-on investigations that encourage problem-solving and deeper thinking

In the Oak classroom, children are encouraged to explore topics and themes with increasing depth, following their curiosity while developing the confidence to think critically, collaborate with others, and approach new challenges as capable learners. Through guided inquiry, purposeful activities, and opportunities for independent discovery, Oak children continue to grow as thoughtful friends, creative thinkers, and enthusiastic learners.
