Summer at Spruce Street

Dear Parents,

It’s almost time for Summer at Spruce!!!

Summer at Spruce Street is a fun combination of indoor and outdoor activities, with regularly scheduled trips to the Frog Pond, visits to the Boston Common fields, and Tadpole playground.  We also include field trips to fun destinations around Boston for all age groups. We travel by child-restraint bus and keep the group sizes small for these trips so everyone has a great experience! Spruce Street’s summer program is open to enrolled families only.

Our 2015 summer program will run from Monday July 6th through Friday, August 14th. The morning program begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 1:00 PM.  Extended Day until 3:30 is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as is Early Drop Off with advance notice, beginning at 8:00 AM, five days per week.  Scheduling is flexible.  We only ask that you enroll your child for a minimum of four days throughout the summer session.  The tuition for summer school is $75.00 per morning session and $35.00 for extended day.  A deposit of $300.00 is required with your registration to guarantee enrollment.  This deposit is deducted from your total summer tuition.

New families are strongly encouraged to enroll.  We strive to stagger each new child’s start date so he or she is one of just a few new children beginning on that day.  In this way we can give each new Spruce Street student plenty of individual attention and help them ease into their first Spruce experience.  Returning children are also encouraged to enroll so that they can get to know some of their new classmates. We strive to work with all families to ensure that each child’s summer experience is an optimal one. Children who have had the opportunity to spend some time at school during the summer months tend to adjust much more readily in the fall no matter what class they are in! And for those flying away it can be a great way to linger a little longer at their favorite nursery school…

Please take a moment to go onto our website and complete a registration form with your desired schedule. Your deposit of $300 should be made payable to Spruce Street and mailed to the school at 5Avery Place, Boston, MA 02111. All scheduling requests need to be submitted online by May 15th; we will not accept initial scheduling requests via email, though changes to your initial request can be made by email to  Scheduling requests will be honored in the order received.  Payment in full is due July 1st, and all payments are non-refundable.  Additional days may be added if we have availability; we will bill you for any added days on your last day of camp.

We hope you can join us for our summer program!  Please return your registration form before May 15th, and we look forward to seeing you for Summer at Spruce!
